Brief

He was born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1980. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Electronics and Communication Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Cairo, in 2002 and 2006, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ottawa, Ottawa, ON, Canada, in 2015.
In September 2002, he was a Teaching Assistant with the Engineering Physics and Mathematics Department, Ain Shams University. In July 2003, he joined the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), Cairo. From September 2007 to June 2009, he was a Teacher Assistant with French University, Cairo. From February 2008 to August 2010, he was a Research Assistant with the Laboratory for Lasers and Optical Communications, Ain Shams University. His Ph.D. research focused on the implementation of femtosecond fiber laser for biomedical application. His current interest is the design and implementation of continuous wave and pulsed-mode fiber lasers for telecommunication and sensing applications.
He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Laboratory for Lasers and Optical Communications, department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University.
His research interests are:
1-Fiber lasers for telecommunications, biomedical, and sensing applications
2-Nonlinear optics: design of mode-locked fiber lasers

Awards

The 1st place in the best paper award to the paper “Tunable Microwave Single-Bandpass Photonic Filter Based on Amplified MEMS-Based Gires–Tournois Interferometer” in National Radio Science Conference (NRSC), 37th, 2020.
